If you’re looking to find out what I represent as a candidate and as a future city councilman in Tracy, you’ve come to the right place. Here are some answers to the most common questions I get asked:
A. I am registered as a Republican, but I have been register as a democrat and have voted both ways. I vote for the issues and the people that I believe in, not for whatever political party they represent. I don’t know about you, but I don’t care who is responsible for the current state of affairs in our Nation, State, or local government. I’m interested in people who offer solutions to problems today and for tomorrow, and I promise to live my term out seeking solutions and answers to problems to make life better of all of us. No finger pointing….No mudslinging…No living in the past. Q. How do you feel about your opposition in this election or the folks who are currently sitting on the Tracy City Council? A. Why do you care what I think about my opposition or sitting council members? My opinion of them should have no bearing on how you feel about me as a candidate or future city council person. Please don’t ask me to talk about these folks...(because I won’t)…rather ask me to tell you about me and what I want to see for Tracy and I’ll talk to you all day long. ___________________________________________________________________________________________ Here’s where I stand on the issues in Tracy…….
security of our town and should not be tampered with. We have a gang problem in Tracy that takes full-time dedicated officers to resolving this problem, because it will not go away on its own. As a former police officer, I understand the importance of good training and the proper equipment to make the job safe for our officers, firefighters, and the community that they serve.
to the rest of our town. We need to attract businesses that attract shoppers and that will complement the existing businesses in Tracy. The city needs to partner with prospective businesses to make setting up shop in Tracy a seamless task. We need to be better about advertising and marketing our city and events to outsiders to attract their dollars into our local economy. We need to focus on completing the downtown re- vitalization project that has been a “concept” for too many years.
entertainment. I still hear the same complaint from other kids today, and realistically they have a point. There is nothing for teenage kids to do in Tracy. We need to focus on entertainment and facilities that give our youth productive ways to spend their free time. Personally, I am open to just about anything that will provide our youth with entertainment and year-round enjoyment and things that will encourage family activities.
shelter is usually overcrowded with animals, many of whom are in need of medical attention, and are subjected to less than sanitary conditions in which to live in. Our city has outgrown our current shelter many years ago, and it is time to update or build a new shelter facility. I am an animal owner, and I shudder to think of my dog spending even a few hours in our shelter facility. Something needs to be now.
salaries that are commensurate with their education, skills, and experience yet so many of the issues that come before city staff are often farmed out to Consultants to review or resolve for us many times at the cost of the annual salary of a middle management employee. I would like to see the city curtail the practice of consulting with consultants and begin consulting with the staff members that we have hired, entrusted, and paid to make decisions within the departments they are heading….and use the money paid to consultants to keep others within the city gainfully employed! While this is just a brief overview of my platform and concerns, I encourage you as a resident or business owner of Tracy to call me, e-mail me, or meet and talk with me about YOUR concerns for the future of Tracy. Remember, let’s work together to find solutions for today and for the future and not dwell on the mistakes of the past! |
